Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in succession.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
