Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
